Sources within India Today revealed that the three Pakistani terrorists responsible for the deadly attack on a pilgrim bus in Reasi district on June 9th were also involved in the ambush of an Indian Air Force (IAF) convoy in Poonch on May 4th.
The terrorists, trained in jungle warfare and equipped with US-made M4 carbines, reportedly navigated through the dense forests after the Poonch attack. They then targeted the bus returning pilgrims from the Shiv Khori temple, tragically killing nine and injuring 33.
A massive manhunt involving security forces from three districts – Rajouri, Reasi, and Poonch – is currently underway. Investigations are ongoing to determine if others were involved in the attack.
The Resistance Front (TRF), an offshoot of the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba terror outfit, initially claimed responsibility for the attack but later retracted the statement.
Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha visited the injured in Jammu and Reasi hospitals and announced financial aid of Rs 10 lakh to the families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 to those injured. He also chaired a high-level meeting to assess the security situation in the region.
