In a significant boost to India's indigenous defence capabilities, Adani Defence has commenced deliveries of the next-generation UAV Launched Precision Guided Missile (ULPGM) to the Indian military. This marks a crucial milestone in the country's pursuit of self-reliance in defence technology.
The first batch of 250 ULPGM units has already been handed over, with the remaining deliveries, including 70 UAV launchers, scheduled for completion by the end of the year, as per Adani Defence officials.
Developed in collaboration with the DRDO, the ULPGM boasts a range of 4 kilometers and incorporates cutting-edge technology.
Meanwhile, DRDO is actively working on the development of the ULPGM's successors, the V2 and V3 variants. These advanced iterations are expected to offer enhanced capabilities, including an extended communication range of 10 kilometers achieved through an upgraded transceiver electronics system. This technological leap will significantly improve the weapon's precision and effectiveness on the battlefield.
The ULPGM, with its advanced features and indigenous origins, is poised to revolutionize battlefield tactics by providing armed drones with a potent and precise strike capability.
