After Amritpal Singh’s victory from jail, His Aide now wants to fight By Polls


After the victory of Amritpal Singh, the head of ‘Waris Punjab De’ in Punjab, now Bhagwant Singh alias Prime Minister Bajeke has announced to contest the elections. This announcement has been made by Bajeke’s son Akashdeep Singh. He will enter the election politics from Gidderbaha assembly seat in Punjab. Bajeke is considered very close to Amritpal Singh.

Amritpal Singh, the chief of ‘Waris Punjab De’, has won from Khadoor Sahib seat in Punjab, however, Amritpal Singh could not take oath as a Lok Sabha member on Tuesday (25 June) due to being lodged in Dibrugarh jail in Assam. His name was called, but he was not present in the Parliament.

Bhagwant Singh alias Prime Minister Bajeke is lodged in Dibrugarh jail along with Amritpal Singh. If Bajeke contests the election, he will also contest from jail. Amritpal Singh, who was elected Lok Sabha MP from Khadoor Sahib seat of Punjab, has been arrested under the National Security Act. Amritpal Singh and Bhagwant Singh have similar charges against them.

Seven other associates of both were arrested last year and all are lodged in Assam jail. Amritpal Singh had won the election without campaigning. Amritpal defeated Congress’ Kulbir Singh Zira by more than 1.9 lakh votes.

Congress’s fiery leader Amarinder Singh Raja was the MLA from Punjab’s Gidderbaha assembly seat till now. After Raja won the MP election from Ladhuiana seat, now a by-election will be held on the Gidderbaha seat. The announcement of Bhagwant Singh alias Prime Minister Bajeke’s son has heated up the politics of Punjab.
