India Developing Powerful Microwave Weapon to Counter Drone Threats

India's DRDO is spearheading advancements in counter-drone technology with the creation of high-power microwave (HPM) weapons. These Directed Energy Weapons (DEWs) are designed to neutralize various aerial threats, offering a potentially revolutionizing solution to a growing security concern.

Internal documents reveal that DEWs will effectively disable hobbyist drones and commercially purchased quadcopters when used with malicious intent. Crucially, the microwave systems would also have the power to disrupt Medium-Altitude Long-Endurance (MALE) drones often deployed for surveillance.

Beyond countering drones, DEWs have further applications. They could potentially take down Pilotless Target Aircraft (PTA) used in training exercises and even target the electronics of incoming cruise missiles, rendering them ineffective.

While developing a reliable power source for these weapons remains a significant hurdle, DRDO's work on DEWs highlights India's dedication to cutting-edge defense against drone-related threats.

If technological challenges are overcome, DEWs could significantly reshape future warfare. This technology offers a non-kinetic, potentially cost-effective alternative to traditional defense tactics against a proliferating airborne threat.

The plan is good ,but we will have to make up for our substandard execution of all these brilliant ideas.

India are making steady progress in developing different type of DEW for short and long range threats against drones and hopefully against different type of ballistic missiles or cruise missiles. The only problem is that it has to use a lot of electronic power to fire the beam and it's a large size so it will be hard to move around. This will be difficult to deploy in the border regions as its huge and heavy to deploy it off the road in high altitude, rough terrain areas and freezing cold weather.

Currently it would be more ideal to deploy the DEW in large to medium size cities which have the power and necessary infrastructure requirements that can be deployed there. Slowly we can then keep on deploying units close towards the borders. At the same time India shouldn't phase out any SAM defence shields as its best to keep a combination and variety so we can use the best weapon to tackle any incoming threats.

And it'll deliver in 2090 with so many fancy feeatures I reckon
Your corrupt jihadi party aren't in power so your dates are incorrect. You just wanted to keep making foreign expensive imports as they received large commissions and deliberately delayed or stop any critical weapons and technology research that we desperately needed.

Good news if it's working prototype has a real footage in action like what MBDA UK consortium showed "dragonfire LDEW"😺
