Indian Army Recovers Two High-Powered IEDs in Poonch, Averts Major Tragedy

Mankote, Poonch District: In a significant development, the Indian Army successfully thwarted a potential disaster on Tuesday by recovering two high-powered Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) in the Mankot sector of Poonch district. The recovered IEDs, weighing approximately 15 kg and 8 kg respectively, were safely detonated in controlled explosions by the Bomb Disposal Squad.

Earlier in the day, suspected explosive material was discovered in the Mankote area of the Mendhar sub-division. Upon analysis, the material was confirmed to be an IED, prompting swift action by the security forces.

The IEDs were recovered at approximately 6:45 PM in the Sangar-Kashbalari area during a joint operation conducted by the Indian Army's local Rashtriya Rifles unit and the Mankote Police.

This successful recovery highlights the vigilance and proactive measures undertaken by security forces in maintaining peace and security in the region.
