Indian Navy Provides Critical Repair Assistance and Medical Aid to Iranian Fishing Vessel

The Indian Navy recently helped an Iranian fishing vessel with crucial repairs and medical support in a demonstration of goodwill and maritime cooperation, highlighting the value of working together at sea.

The Iranian ship, known as FV Ameen, came into problems while she was sailing east of Duqm, Oman. It was apparently damaged, most likely from a collision with a merchant vessel, which resulted in a hull breach and water ingress. This presented a risk to the ship and its six crew members.

As soon as the Indian Navy received a distress signal, a warship was sent to the location without delay. The Indian team ensured the vessel's seaworthiness and stopped additional water intrusion by providing crucial repair help. They also made medical assistance available to the crew, ensuring their well-being.
