NewSpace Unveils Redesigned Abhimanyu UCAV With Enhanced Performance & Stealth

Bengaluru-based drone manufacturer NewSpace Research (NSRT) has revealed a significant redesign of its highly anticipated Abhimanyu Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle (UCAV).

The upgraded design, drawing inspiration from the legendary warrior known for his bravery, features internal engines housed within trapezoidal side intakes, a departure from the previous external podded engine configuration. This change is expected to enhance performance and potentially bolster stealth capabilities.

A promotional video released last year showcased the Abhimanyu launching from an airbase and seamlessly integrating with a Manned Mothership, hinting at the potential for innovative collaborative combat strategies.

The video also highlighted the Abhimanyu's versatility, demonstrating four distinct configurations, each designed for a specific role:
  • Abhimanyu EW: An electronic warfare specialist designed to protect airbases by jamming enemy communications and radar systems.
  • Abhimanyu Kamikaze: A high-impact kinetic attack variant intended to eliminate hostile military aircraft, as depicted in the video engaging a Pakistan Air Force J-10CE.
  • Abhimanyu Decoy: A deception tool that mimics real aircraft to confuse enemy air defenses.
  • Abhimanyu ISR: An intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance platform that provides crucial situational awareness by identifying and tracking potential threats.
While NSRT has not released detailed specifications, industry experts speculate that the internal engine configuration could improve the Abhimanyu's range, speed, and maneuverability. Additionally, the streamlined design may reduce its radar cross-section, making it more difficult to detect.

The Abhimanyu's potential to excel in diverse roles, from electronic warfare and intelligence gathering to kinetic attacks and decoy operations, positions it as a formidable asset in modern warfare. Its adaptability and potential for collaborative operations with manned aircraft could revolutionize aerial combat tactics.

As NewSpace Research continues to refine and develop the Abhimanyu UCAV, it is poised to become a significant player in the global drone market and a game-changer on the battlefield.

I hope these private companies get adequate amount of funding for this kind of cutting edge research. I read recently that private companies were complaining about not getting enough funding for R&D as compared to public sector companies

War of the sketches.

I thing IAF should leave everything and conduct a drawing competition involving HAL and other public and private players, as to which company can make better Sketch than the other.

winning entry will receive an award of Rs 101/-

I don't know how India will fight Pakistan and China with these sketches & scale models while they have real flying machines

yeah, i guess you can design UAVs without Sketching, CAD or modelling, right?

Before funding, proper mechanism must be their that the research generated by this public funding is for only Indian use not for world

Bro, give me Rs. 2000/- I will make wonderful designs and sketches of 6th and 7th gen airplane.

Heck, AI tools like DallE can do the same for free.

But, what will one do with all design and sketches when HAL won't turn them into reality in a hundred years.

Wonderful news to start a day.
India already has an engine to man all of its versions. DRY KAVERI.
Way to go!!!

HAL has designers like Maruti. U can guess the manufacturers accurately by seeing the design from distance.. 😆

Excellent features.. pirticularly prospect of the EW version is exciting..

India needs to fund more research to private companies or to develop more projects together with a government company. This allows better access to government facilities and testing facilities while the private sector can provide the talent, knowledge, education, skills, expertise and experience.

Government companies are not good at innovating new cutting edge technology or products or they can take a long time but they are good at manufacturing something on a large scale once taught how to make it but faults and errors do occur occasionally.

Good at manufacturing on scale? 😂😂😂

Heard of Dhanush gun? Heard of Tejas? Heard of the MMRCA fiasco? Heard of the Army memo on OFB detailing how the manufacturing of OFB has led to loss of lives to the army?

AMCA is a graphics design picture screen plane, for wet dreamers and; K'aan is a real life 5th gen. jet almost same as F22 and better than F35 as claimed by TAI now!!

Delivery of dhanush guns have resumed after solving the issue according to Indian media. Tejas is delayed. I said that errors and faults do occur occasionally.

But not everything is a complete failure. Naval ships are designed and manufactured quicker like the frigates, destroyers, corvettes, OPV, speed boats etc. BMP 2M vehicles are manufactured and delivered on a large scale. Manufacturing the T90 tanks are made on a large scale and delivered. Surveillance drones are made and delivered. SAM are made and delivered without delays. Radars made on time. Fibre optic cables installed very quickly. Making more artillery shells are made on time. Bullets are made on time. EW equipment are made on time. ATGM made on time.

There’s so much that are developed on time and without fault with massive improvements made on quantity and quality this last decade so not everything is a failure.

Kaan is just a jet made from foreign technology, components and equipment from NATO countries so there’s very little important equipment and technology that they have developed themselves.

Dhanush guns have been delayed. Period.

And occasionally? Can you name 5 products which were manufactured on scale and were delivered on time by DPSUs? Of course, the onus of proving that they met the timeframe is on you.

Yes, TAI testing is legendary. We need to believe it word for word. Lol.

At least it can fly.

Just like how India is always boasting about it's totally non-existent Tejas MK2 and AMCA graphics design screen planes, now KAI claims that K'aan is as good as F22 and better than F35 HAHAHAHAHA...!!
