Over 100 militants eliminated by Nigerian air force in overnight operation

Over 100 terrorist militants were eliminated during an overnight operation conducted by the Nigerian air force in the state of Katsina, the Nigerian newspaper Daily Post reported on Monday, citing the Katsina governor's spokesman, Dikko Umaru Radda.

The Hadarin Daji operation was aimed at destroying a criminal group and resulted in the elimination of over 100 militants and 45 motorcycles, the newspaper reported.

This was the third in a recent series of successful operations by the country's air force in the Faskari-Kankara area that resulted in the disruption of terrorist activity, the spokesman was cited as saying.

The operation comes against the backdrop of an ongoing criminal unrest in Nigeria's Katsina. Last week, the Nigerian media outlet reported that over 50 people were killed and several others were injured in a series of terrorist attacks in Katsina, with dozens of people, including women and children, abducted and taken into hiding.
