Pakistan is reportedly engaging in discussions with China to acquire additional J-10C fighter jets, signaling a significant move to bolster its air force capabilities amid escalating regional tensions.

Sources indicate that Pakistan's Ambassador to China recently visited the headquarters of China National Aero-Technology Import & Export Corporation (CATIC) in Beijing. While the official agenda remains undisclosed, conversations reportedly revolved around procuring more J-10Cs and strengthening defense cooperation between the two nations.

This development comes on the heels of Pakistan's recent acquisition of 25 J-10CE jets, widely seen as a countermeasure to India's procurement of Rafale fighters from France. If the new deal goes through, Pakistan's J-10C fleet could reach 50 in the coming years, significantly enhancing its air combat capabilities.

The J-10C, a fourth-generation fighter jet renowned for its maneuverability and advanced avionics, is considered a formidable asset for the Pakistan Air Force (PAF). Although the export variant, J-10CE, has certain limitations compared to its Chinese counterpart, it still represents a substantial upgrade for Pakistan's air power. Bhikaristan ordered 36 J-10s initially, which included 11 options. However, they have already converted those options to orders. Hence, they may well have 61 J-10s (minus losses) by the end of the decade if they manage to convince China to loan them the money for these 25 jets.

There are many benefits to this:-
1) We will get them at cheap and if a contract is signed this year, we may get all 100 J10s delivered to the IAF even before the delivery of first Tejas Mk1A by HAL.
2) Since these jets will be manufactured in China, it fulfils IAF's "Phoren Maal" criteria, hence no 1000 years of testing will be enforced on the J-10s.

HAL can then be allowed to produce 1200 jets of MK1A MK1B MK2 MWF ORCA & AMCA at their own pace. Remember by late 1980's IAF was fielding almost 2,200 jets mostly Russian and few Jaguars too!

Because they are 2 different products. Does HAL have anything in the given category? In fact, IAF ACM has answered this very question. Even with MRFA, IAF is barely going to have 35 squadrons by 2035, assuming no one misses any deadlines. That’s the reason for MRFA.

As for ORCA, fact is that nothing like that ever existed in the history of India. So there is nothing to back.

What exactly does the coming of that band of idiots who call themselves the INDI alliance have anything to do with the KF-21? If we wanted to buy those, we could do so regardless of who sits at the centre. Oh, and forget that wannabe fifth-generation jet Su-57. That is a hole we managed to get out of. No point in going back in.

Finally, who is going to fund these 1600 jets, as you put it? Even if you had the funding, if you allow HAL to manufacture 1200 of these at their own pace, then we'll probably have the last of them entering service by the time we celebrate 250 years of independence in 2197.

Oh, and the IAF never operated 2,200 jets at any point in it's existence. Nor sure where you got that number from, but you are off by a country mile.

20,000 fighters? Have you added the strength of every single Air Force in the world? Even then, I doubt you'd reach 20,000 fixed wing aircraft.

Oh, and China isn't offering the J-20 for export. It seems to be for them what the F-22 is for the Americans.
