Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) today commissioned & operationalised a Hot Isostatic Press (HIP) facility at its Nasik Division for the processing of Carbon-Carbon Brake Discs of LCA Mk 1A aircraft in the presence of Defence Secretary Shri Rajesh Kumar Singh & Dr D K Sunil, CMD, HAL.
The HIP facility is the third in the country & one of its kind in India. The new facility aims to significantly reduce the processing cycle time & associated logistics. Speaking on the occasion, Shri Rajesh Kumar Singh commended the collaborative work of teams from HAL, Graphite India Limited, ASACO, DRDO & regulatory agencies for establishing this unique infrastructure in India.
He emphasised the government and the Ministry of Defence’s vision to bring together public and private industries to meet India’s growing defence requirements through indigenous capabilities. Dr. D. K. Sunil, CMD, HAL, said that HAL has planned investments of over Rs 10,000 crore towards infrastructure development to increase the production rate of indigenous aircraft and helicopters. He added that HAL is creating parallel manufacturing capabilities and integrating the supply chain with industry partners.
Shri Rajesh Kumar Singh visited different manufacturing shops at HAL Nasik. Shri Saket Chaturvedi, CEO (MiG Complex), Shri M. Satyanarayana, CEO (Accessories Complex) & other senior dignitaries from HAL, Government organisations & private sector partners were present.
