In a significant step towards peace and development in the Maoist-affected Bastar region of Chhattisgarh, 13 remote villages will witness the hoisting of the national flag for the first time on Independence Day. This historic event is being made possible by the establishment of new security camps in these villages over the past seven months.
The villages, located in various districts within the Bastar division, have been grappling with the menace of Left Wing Extremism for over three decades. The setting up of security camps has not only brought a sense of security but has also paved the way for various developmental activities in these areas.
The camps have been instrumental in ensuring that government welfare schemes reach the tribal population and have also facilitated the overall progress of the region.
The hoisting of the tricolour in these villages is a symbol of hope and a testament to the government's commitment to bringing peace and prosperity to the region. This event is expected to boost the morale of the local people and encourage them to actively participate in the nation-building process.
Meanwhile, the state government has made elaborate arrangements to celebrate Independence Day across all districts, including the capital Raipur. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai will hoist the national flag and receive the guard of honour in Raipur, while other dignitaries, including Deputy Chief Ministers and Union Ministers, will preside over the celebrations in other parts of the state.
Security has been beefed up across the state, particularly in Maoist-affected areas, to ensure peaceful and incident-free celebrations.
