This is a crucial requirement that we have developed and need along the border areas. We can move heavy cargo quickly in high altitude regions with harsh weather conditions or in thick jungle areas where vehicles are not accessible. Another benefit is that we can install a EO/IR surveillance system but could carry other payloads if necessary like EW, ESM, SIGINT, COMINT etc which can create havoc on enemy communication networks but also allows us to intercept their communications. Now that HAL are making the prototype after certifying the technology and drone then they should hand off the manufacturing capabilities to the private sector who can make it more quickly and cheaply.
