JSR Dynamics Pvt Ltd showcases Khagantak 306 and 243 long-range glide bombs at Maharashtra MSME Defence Expo

JSR Dynamics Pvt Ltd, a Nagpur-based startup, has showcased its Khagantak 306 and 243 long-range glide bombs at the Maharashtra MSME Defence Expo.

The Khagantak 306 has a 175 km operational range, while the Khagantak 243 has a 144 km range.

Both glide bombs have exceptional glide ratios, enhancing precision and maneuverability.

They also have GPS and ADC-coupled Navigation Systems for resilience against jamming.

he Khagantak 243 is compatible with a Wide FOV EQ/IR Seeker for long-range target detection.

I remember reading that DRDO has developed kits to make dumb bombs into smart bombs based on INS/GPS navigation system.
More is merrier to get to the best products.

India must dole out contracts to many startups and private companies, and even public companies with in-house independent grous, to come up with this kind of ideas.

U cant compare Crystal Maze (Popeye) to this glide bombs. Crystal Maze is a full fledged cruise missile with a turbo jet propulsion. On the other hand this is essentially a INS/GPS/EO/IR guided glide bomb. Both serve different purposes.

This is wonderful news. Up until now our DRDO developed glide bombs have a lower range than 100km so these glide bombs will give us a longer strike range and we can comfortably hit targets from within our borders. It seems that the defence industry is changing very quickly by using a combination of using DRDO partnering with a Indian private company.

They could of at least chosen a better name other than Khagantak but why do they have a completely random number after the name Khagantak 306, 243 is bizarre. It in no way relates to either the bombs range or specifications so they should choose a better name if we want to export these bombs as well.

Obviously they are showing this just as a display model but the real one will definitely have lugs and can attach it to the pylons. Why do you need to waste money on manufacturing the lugs on a display model? 😂

Don’t know from where this 90% mentality comes from. Army doesn’t induct based on claimed capabilities but on required capabilities. This has 2 categories. Critical requirements and desired requirements. Critical requirements can’t be compromised with. Though sometimes, out of their love for DRDO, armed forces do revise the critical requirements to somehow try and induct their products. Like with Insas or Tapas or ATAGS. But in itself you can’t compromise on the critical requirements because they are already set at the bare minimum. One can surely ignore the desired specifications though in favor of indigenous equipment.

Russia is risking its aircraft with their UMPC which work in a range of 50-60km appx, when AD moves closer to warfront, sukhois getting shotdown easily...
Ofcourse Russians are known to be dumb in airforce. Even these UPMC came after 1year of war.

175km would be outside high danger zone range of AD when buffer zone is included from which AD operates... It will be in medium danger zone or safe...taking on targets near front lines

Your absolutely right one should READ properly before commenting. The name Khagantak is a combination of two Sanskrit words which loosely translate as a falcon/eagle slayer. There could of been a better and easier name to pick.

But those numbers are bizarre because no bomb or missile uses a number that's so random to name their bomb or they could of used a number that resonates with its capabilities. I support indigenously develop product not screwdriver job. Just look around how turkey supported TB-2 drone program. If we support these people then in future we get world class product. But if we won't support them (may be it DRDO or any private company) now then we always do screwdriver job and stay in mercy of OEM countries... I support SSS defense, tonbo imaging, Kalyani, New space...many more they are truly doing hard work but some big name are more interested in painting job. I hate them

Bhai please soch le problem kya hai tujhe. First you said that the issue is that the name is too difficult and the number is not relevant to the specifications. Then you said the number specifies the weight and the weight is not used in the name of any bomb. When again proven wrong, you are saying that by such a random number. You want them to add a metal block to increase the weight to a more beautiful rounded off number?

Nobody knows where this company would have gotten this tech from without doing any R&D, all of a sudden there are a lot of small private companies popping up like mushroom after rain, GOI should do thorough background check of these companies to find out the origin of these tech, these companies could very well be chinese proxies and these products could be controlled remotely or could have been pre coded to fail during certain operations by the enemies during critical operation.

But how much is the payload? Usually glide bombs have very heavy payloads. These indian systems claim such superior ranges, I am sceptical as to how much the payload is.
