Philippine Aerospace Development Corp (PADC) has partnered with Indian aerospace company Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) to introduce the advanced Tejas Mk1A aircraft to the Philippines. The partnership aims to enhance the country's aerial prowess and maritime security.

The alliance also includes Indian soft loans to support defense cooperation and economic synergy. The Philippines plans to procure over 40 multirole fighter aircraft as part of its Re-Horizon 3 initiative.

Integrate Tejas with Harpoon for now , until Brahmos NG comes to existence which is by 2027 only.

First ADA HAL seeking tech support from Dassault should make a formidable Tejas variant between Tejas-1A and AF-MK-II ! These 97 new Tejas should have more formidable Aerodynamic shaped air frame as well as weapon stations, powered by a 90-95 kn GE engine have mac 2.30 speed, can carry 4.50 weapon load with increased combat radius !

Tejas mk2 ko LCA aur MWF ke beech ka fighter bolte hai aur tujhe usme bhi kuch beech ka chahiye.

Assembly line for 40 Tejas IA fighter in Philippines is rather uneconomical.
Just sell ready made fighters with Brahmos NG with less than 290 kms or else it will violate the MTCR regimen.

India should also consider Tejas IA as a Naval Strike Fighter with Brahmos NG and other weapons and station them at various Naval Air Bases/Stations like Andaman, Lakshdweep, Mincoy, etc

Quickest way to build Naval capabilities.

➥If I already have FA-50 LCAs & being a “archipelagic tropical country” what kind of weapon & platform will be perform better against a my principal adversary i.e. PLA-Navy Air Force (PLANAF) that has Su-33, J-15/-16 and FC-31❓Will LCAs make a resolute difference against H-MRCAs❓

➥Can HAL & GE enlarge & stabilise Mk.1A production line before 2026 to streamline domestic & export deliveries❓

➥Is Tejas LCA designed for CAS/BAI, ideal for anti-shipping (AShM) role❓

➥ In India, weapon trials happen on Su-30MKI (& sometime Jaguar D3) loaned from IAF. BrahMos-NG will have to face the same routine starting from late 2024 & early 2025. BrahMos-NG qualification on Tejas will happen after 2027-28 (atleast).

HAL, please finish our orders first. We will need to fight a two and half front war in the next few years.

no country will buy 40 tejas first you have to sell in 6 or 12 numbers then after gaining confidence other countries will give order

first complete our IAF requirement & then go for others....what bullshit types of news HAL is planning to spread dont know

Considering that the Philippines is currently almost through with a deal for 12 Gripen C/D fighters (second-hand from Swedish stocks), the maximum extra aircraft they would purchase would be 28, which would make up 2 squadrons plus 4 trainers / attrition replacements.

Regardless, chances are that the US may offer them older F-16C (Block 50) aircraft instead. The Philippine Air Force would benefit from having a fighter capable of naval strike missions, but the FA-50 or the F-16 can be modified for such roles if need be.

Hope we get the 1st export order. It'll speed up the production too.
It won't. HAL has enough orders either given or in the pipeline to increase production. They have been making some grandiose plans to ramp up production, but knowing them, it is just another chai-samosa gup-shup to have. They do have some external bottlenecks which will take a year or two to be resolved, such as an increased supply of F404 engines. Still, they have enough stocks of the engine to have already ramped up production, which is something they haven't done yet. Don't hold your breath on HAL increasing production rates with a small export order. Now, an export order book of a 100 or so aircraft would mean a ramp-up in production, but an export order book of 100 Tejas aircraft is something HAL can only dream of for now.

The Brahmos NG will be a very advanced missile and its smaller size and lighter weight means that this missile can be installed on any Indian jet. But they have to start development as soon as possible as the project will take time and new technology transfer and local production clearances with Russia will add to that problem.

Great, now increase the level of indigenization. Prioritize refuelling systems, desi NGCCM, Astra Mk2 and array of air to ground weapons.
