Partnership between PADC and HAL to Introduce Tejas Mk1A Aircraft to the Philippines

Philippine Aerospace Development Corp (PADC) has partnered with Indian aerospace company Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) to introduce the advanced Tejas Mk1A aircraft to the Philippines. The partnership aims to enhance the country's aerial prowess and maritime security.

The alliance also includes Indian soft loans to support defense cooperation and economic synergy. The Philippines plans to procure over 40 multirole fighter aircraft as part of its Re-Horizon 3 initiative.

Philippines is an American treaty ally . For now no problem in supplying Tejas with GE F-404 engine.

Assembly line for 40 Tejas IA fighter in Philippines is rather uneconomical.
Just sell ready made fighters with Brahmos NG with less than 290 kms or else it will violate the MTCR regimen.

India should also consider Tejas IA as a Naval Strike Fighter with Brahmos NG and other weapons and station them at various Naval Air Bases/Stations like Andaman, Lakshdweep, Mincoy, etc

Considering that the Philippines is currently almost through with a deal for 12 Gripen C/D fighters (second-hand from Swedish stocks), the maximum extra aircraft they would purchase would be 28, which would make up 2 squadrons plus 4 trainers / attrition replacements.

Regardless, chances are that the US may offer them older F-16C (Block 50) aircraft instead. The Philippine Air Force would benefit from having a fighter capable of naval strike missions, but the FA-50 or the F-16 can be modified for such roles if need be.

It won't. HAL has enough orders either given or in the pipeline to increase production. They have been making some grandiose plans to ramp up production, but knowing them, it is just another chai-samosa gup-shup to have. They do have some external bottlenecks which will take a year or two to be resolved, such as an increased supply of F404 engines. Still, they have enough stocks of the engine to have already ramped up production, which is something they haven't done yet. Don't hold your breath on HAL increasing production rates with a small export order. Now, an export order book of a 100 or so aircraft would mean a ramp-up in production, but an export order book of 100 Tejas aircraft is something HAL can only dream of for now.

The Brahmos NG will be a very advanced missile and its smaller size and lighter weight means that this missile can be installed on any Indian jet. But they have to start development as soon as possible as the project will take time and new technology transfer and local production clearances with Russia will add to that problem.

Do i have a better package than Brahmos-NG and Tejas in my budget ?
I already have brahmos costal defence system, What's better than to maintain commonality in platform ?
For my point defence need and Anti ship operation what options do i have which fits my budget.
F-16 is over budget and FA50 is not a better fighting platform than tejas.

His brain would not be able to calculate how long will it take to make the Tejas jets if ordered immediately , By 2027 they should have Brahmos ng on Tejas. So, no need for extras.

Light is always better at interdicting mediums as lower rcs gives advantage with ASEA radar and ews should be even better suited for roles, besides Rudram, and other weapons like astra.
