French Rafale Fighters Join Israeli, Jordanian Forces in Repelling Iranian Drone Attack

French Rafale fighter jets scrambled alongside Israeli and Jordanian forces to intercept a massive barrage of Iranian drones and missiles targeting Israel on the night of April 13th. The Israeli military confirmed they successfully neutralized the vast majority of the attack, with critical assistance from their allies.

In a bold attack, Iran launched over 300 missiles and drones aimed at Israel. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) reported intercepting 99% of the incoming projectiles, with some penetrating its defenses. Jordan, a key transit point for the weapons, played a pivotal role in the defense, with its air force downing several Iranian drones.

France, which maintains an air base in Jordan as part of its counter-terrorism Operation Chammal, also took action. "Jordanian airspace was violated by these attacks. We got our fighters off the ground and intercepted what we were supposed to," declared the French president on BFMTV.

Operation Chammal, conducted in cooperation with international partners, aims to combat ISIS in Iraq and Syria. Currently, France has four Rafale B fighters deployed at Jordan's Prince Hassan Air Base, supporting the fight against regional terrorist groups.
