HAL is struggling to integrate multiple things, radars, missiles, EW suite. The have shit the bed on every single aspect and whenever asked why, they say GE didnt give engines... TejasMK1 and 2 will be a severely outdated platform by the time it gets inducted into the IAF when china and US would already have their 6th gen flying.

Its about high time ppl stop writing supid articles like this glazing the Tejas and HAL!!! HAL should be nowhere near AMCA or that project is destined to fail as well!

When expectation from HAL is to deliver Tejas MK1A on time starting from 2024, but 2 years delayed. Now plz don't talk about software complexity. Every fighter jet has this software and irony is how HAL engineers are able to manage and maintain this software. They would have solved all integration issue long back. When you are competing with USA, RUSSIA, CHINA, FRANCE then it is expected you have capability to create this complex software. So plz complete the integration of radar, missiles, jamming system and deliver the jets to IAF.
 
The biggest challenge now is not design capability anymore — it is:
Engine independence, dependency on USA is real challenge to get delivery on time.as GE deliberately delay F404 engine supply.
Faster production rate of Tajas.30/Annually
Private-sector manufacturing scale
AESA radar and EW ecosystem maturity
Timely testing and certification
If those are solved, India can move from “import-heavy air force” to “export-capable aerospace power” in the next 15 years.
