IAF Chief Urges Media to Restraint from Speculation Regarding Tejas Crash

The Indian Air Force (IAF) is calling for restraint in the face of media speculation regarding the recent crash of a Tejas Mk1A fighter jet. During an interview with WION, Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari, Chief of the Air Staff, stressed that the cause of the crash remains under active investigation.

The IAF has established a Court of Inquiry (CoI) to thoroughly examine all aspects of the incident. Chaudhari emphasized that the CoI is meticulously analyzing evidence recovered from the crash site, along with statements from the pilot, who ejected safely. Only after this extensive process is completed will the IAF receive a final report outlining the definitive cause of the accident.

The Tejas Mk1A crash represents a somber milestone for the indigenous fighter jet program, marking the first accident involving the Tejas aircraft since its inaugural flight in 2001. Prior to this incident, the Tejas had enjoyed a successful track record throughout over two decades of service.

The aircraft involved in the crash was a part of the IAF's Second LCA Tejas Squadron and had achieved Final Operational Clearance (FOC) configuration. This certification process includes rigorous testing to ensure the aircraft meets all operational requirements. Further, the Tejas in question was relatively new, having been in service for only three years.

The IAF, along with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), the manufacturer of the Tejas, remain committed to determining the root cause of the crash. This information will be crucial to ensure the continued safe operation of the Tejas Mk1A fleet and to inform future improvements within the Tejas program.

Well, it was always going to be the first crash sooner or later.

Agents speculation to scuttle indigenous technology. Their commission business is in jeopardy

It is not Tejas mk1a but mk1 who wrote this article must state the fact Tejas mk1a ki first flight hi iske baad hui hai

So IAF is now doing police work also?
An IAF fighter jet has crashed. IAF pilot was flying it and IAF people take care of maintenance. They know in an out of the plane.

How exactly do you think rajasthan police will be able to determine cause of accident, since accident happened in rajasthan.

But do not blame the ge engine for failing.
Failed compressor section of turbine creates serious thrust issues.. looks like it was thrust failure which initiated conditions for pilot to immediately eject as he knew engine failure in effect. See pic very closely.. seat canopy is missing.. that shows pilot ejected.. plane fully intact, no smoke etc; as no signs of a missile hit or was shot down or any sabotage explosion on board. Landing gear engaged approaching landing area.. Looks it had thrust issues & could not hold it.

Fully agree with you...; Maintenance crew knows detailed engine behavior on each plane. They knew all the issues on all of them MiG-21 failures-crashes..

Well, ge engine failed. Why? Possible that USA wanted to win bid for Argentina jet.
if & yes, if & when a toyota engine fails.. that doesn't mean factory is blamed.. its the maintenance & service crew's issues.

Speculation which the IAF has warned about. Don't you understand english?
Why I am civilian, orders are undemocratic. Stop denying fact. Pilot says engine fail, coincidence USA few days latter wins Argentina contract. Connecting dots are easy.
