The Indian Air Force (IAF) is preparing for the next stage of its RudraM series of air-to-surface missiles.

HAL Nashik Division has completed modifications on Su-30 MKI aircraft to enable captive flight trials of the RudraM-III, a long-range variant with a 300-400kg warhead and 600km range.

The RudraM-III can engage various targets, including radar installations, bunkers, airstrips, and air hangers. The Su-30MKI will initially be the only platform cleared to carry it.

Rudram 3 is basically an overkill if we take Pakistan in context - Su 30 would be able to target Lahore from Rudram 3 's range of 600kms.

When R-1 is getting inducted? Also DRDO & MOD is quite silent on flight test of R2

There are some people are quite loud when it comes delay in DRDO projects.. but they keep quite when it comes to DRDO's achievement.. don't know why..

Its not. In wartime Beggaristan will move assets afar from Border & btw as we know Beggaristan is not a threat anymore, Coronastan is. Real range is around 1K km with reduced payload which is needed to annihilate H9 & HQ16 batteries of Coronastan

DRDO has done wonderful things in missile domain.. it has achieved near masterly on this technology, no doubt of it..

It’s 24 km 😂😂 Lahore to Amritsar on google maps is 65 km, and they take the center of the cities. Fir se exposed.
Exposed - 🤦 pls first tell the meaning of exposed.

Just what's with the obsession of this word-

As for distance - will u launch ur standoff weapons from borders or from back within ur territory - Lahore is far inside if we would real battle circumstances.
*Sigh*

Again drdo wasting time. Ukraine managed to down even Su35 and su 34 with longer range missiles than Rudra

Sigh…again your knowledge is exposed. For any weapon, when firing, you stay one-third of the range within your border. So the 600 km missile can fire 400 km inside Pak border. Going by your definition, even Agni 6 can only go up to 16 km.

Jodhpur - 600kms away from Lahore.
“ Bro Lahore IS far from Border.”- I don’t know what sort of Math they taught you guys in NIT, but when you take distance between a point and a line/curve, you take the least possible distance. Else…let’s calculate the distance from Arunachal Pradesh border?

DRDO does do some excellent work. There is no denying that. However, they are also an organization that is rife with inefficiencies and the like. Hence, even successes come with delays.

It's not so much a question of not appreciating successes and criticising failures. It's a case of the fact that these successes are generally few and far between, while their inefficiencies hamper work on a day-to-day basis.

Jodhpur (600kms from Lahore)
Well, you wouldn't be launching the missile as soon as the aircraft took up from Jodhpur, would you?

Still, a longer range is a good thing to have. That would allow us to strike targets far beyond Lahore.
