Bangladesh is scheduled to hold elections on February 12. Several reports have emerged warning of severe violence in the country ahead of the elections. Meanwhile, in the latest update, a report reveals that Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists have entered Bangladesh from Pakistan.

In a shocking revelation from Pakistan, a report claims that at least four Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists were on board Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight BG-342, which arrived in Dhaka from Karachi earlier this week, just days after the resumption of direct air services between the two countries.

The resumption of air services between Bangladesh and Pakistan has sparked considerable controversy. According to media reports, this allegation was made by investigative journalist Sahidul Hasan Khokon.

Regarding the movement of LeT terrorists, Hasan Khokon exposed the Yunus government’s dangerous support to terrorist infiltration in Bangladesh and its alleged Islamist and Pakistan-appeasing attitude.

In a post on social media platform X on Saturday, Khokon said that Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight BG-342 departed from Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport and landed at Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 4.20 am on January 30, carrying a total of 113 passengers.

According to Khokon, some of the passengers were individuals he identified as Lashkar-e-Taiba operatives. Their names and alleged connections were listed on their travel documents.

He claimed that this pointed to major security lapses due to negligence or deliberate inaction under the current government.

Khokon wrote in his post, “Lashkar-e-Taiba militants arrived in Bangladesh from Pakistan.” He also shared some photos showing the passport details of the alleged operatives.

According to Bangladeshi media outlet The Daily Republic, the claim comes just after the Yunus government last week decided to resume direct flights between Dhaka and Karachi, resuming an air route between the two countries after nearly 14 years.

The move is rumored to have been made following undisclosed agreements with Pakistani officials. According to the report, critics have alleged that the resumption of the route was accompanied by a number of controversial concessions, including special visa exemptions and privileges for Pakistani government officials, military personnel, and intelligence operatives, relaxed inspection rules for Pakistani ships at Bangladeshi ports, and relaxed scrutiny of transactions between the two countries.

Current allegations have raised concerns that civilian aircraft may now be used as cover for terrorist activities. Lashkar-e-Taiba is a UN-designated terrorist organization, responsible for the 2008 Mumbai terrorist attacks and numerous other attacks, and operates largely with the support of Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence.

Experts say allegations of its presence in Bangladesh fit into a larger narrative of rising extremist activity under the current government, reports The Daily Republic.

The report said that Ibtisam Ilahi Zaheer, a close associate of LeT founder Hafiz Saeed and general secretary of Pakistan’s Markazi Jamiat Ahl-e-Hadith, visited Bangladesh for several weeks in October 2025.

During this period, Zahir reportedly visited Dhaka and several sensitive districts along the border with India, including Chapainawabganj, Nachole, Rangpur, Lalmonirhat, Nilphamari, Joypurhat, and Rajshahi. According to reports, Zahir delivered speeches calling for sacrifice for Islam, unity against secular and liberal forces, and the merger of Kashmir with Pakistan. He also held talks with local radical groups affiliated with Ahl-e-Hadith Bangladesh and individuals such as Asadullah al-Ghalib.

This was Yunus’s second visit since coming to power, following his previous visit in February 2025. The report further states that security experts have warned that such religious outreach activities could serve as a front for rebuilding LeT’s cross-border networks, recruiting in vulnerable border areas, and potentially planning operations targeting India’s eastern border and northeastern states.

Critics have alleged that the Yunus government’s growing closeness with Pakistan’s intelligence system, weakening of domestic security system, relaxation of Pakistani cargo inspection and lax visa screening process have turned Bangladesh into an easy transit corridor for jihadist groups, The Daily Republic media reported.

He warned that radicalism and terrorist networks were being allowed to take root.
