New Member Introductions: Let's Get to Know Each Other

Hello,
I completed my graduation and postgraduaton in Mechanical Ebginneing from IIT, Bombay. I was a member of the core design team of LCA (Tejas) and worked as a system designer at HAL ,Bangalore. This was between 1982 to 2001, covering the full development life cycle of a fighter aircraft, right from RFP (Request for proposal) from IAF to the first flight of the aircraft, i. e. LCA.

I was responsible for developing and testing microprocessor based anti skid brake system and nose wheel steering for the LCA.

The brake system was tested extensively on Dynamometer, a test rig where aircraft landing is simulated.

These are the first systems to be tested, after the engine run up, on the runway.

In addition to these, I was actively associated with flight controls and hydraulic systems of the aircraft.

Only a few people will realise, how much efforts have gone in designing and validating world class ground test facilities as a part of the development of LCA. In fact, confident with which people are talking about development about LCA Mk II and AMCA is due to the experience and availability of ground test facilities and an indigenous platform with proven utility systems of LCA.

Man on the spot, who can give us advice on the LCA.
Tremendous asset to Defence News India.
Humble welcome to the site from my side.

Hello everyone,
My name is Tyler Lissy, recent graduate of Dickinson College and incoming graduate candidate at the University of Maine. Most of my previous research has led me to topics concerning foreign policy and geopolitical flashpoints. However, I have recently begun a fellowship as a Motwani Jadeja U.S.-India fellow with the Pacific Forum. My larger research project will be going over India's indigenous defense modernization, and how that dynamic intersects with U.S.-India relations. If you feel that your experience/knowledge would be of any use to my topic, feel free to reach out. And, if you would like verification of my credentials, I would be happy to share that as well. Excited to join the community and interact when I can!
