Redon Systems Unveils a Game-Changing 16-UAV Launching System for Swarm and Precision Strikes

Redon Systems, a Hyderabad-based defence technology startup, has announced a groundbreaking advancement in unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) deployment with its new Multi-Barrel UAV Launcher (MBUL).

This innovative system is poised to revolutionize military operations with its ability to rapidly launch a swarm of 16 UAVs for both precision strikes and coordinated attacks.

The MBUL system, mounted on a 6x3 wheeled vehicle, utilizes a pneumatic barrel system to launch up to 16 loitering munitions (LMs) in quick succession. This capability allows for swift responses in time-critical combat situations, offering a tactical advantage by overwhelming enemy defences.

The launcher's design emphasizes flexibility, with customizable launch angles for each barrel to cater to diverse mission requirements. Reloading is designed for efficiency, ensuring minimal downtime and continuous UAV operations.

Engineered for versatility and adaptability, the MBUL boasts a lightweight and modular structure. This facilitates easy transportation and rapid deployment across varying terrains, from rugged landscapes to urban environments.

Furthermore, the system's compatibility with a Stallion 4x4 vehicle enhances its mobility in challenging conditions.

Controlling the MBUL is a sophisticated Ground Control Station (GCS) equipped with two workstations. Each workstation allows operators to manage missions for up to nine LMs, providing a high degree of autonomy and real-time mission adjustment capabilities. This ensures precise control and coordination of UAV swarms for maximum impact.

Key features of the MBUL system include

  • Rapid Deployment: The system can launch a full complement of 16 LMs in under a minute, with each launch taking as little as 4 seconds. The entire system can be set up and operational within 15 minutes.
  • Cross-Country Operations: Its robust design enables deployment in extreme environments, ensuring operational effectiveness in diverse and challenging conditions.
  • Swarm Strike Capability: The MBUL enables coordinated strikes using multiple UAVs, overwhelming enemy defences through synchronized attacks.
  • High Pressure Ejection: A 200-bar compressor with individual pressure controls for each barrel provides optimized launch speeds for various payload requirements.
  • Compact and Lethal: The LMs themselves feature foldable wings for compact storage within the launcher barrels. The system also carries 18 reserve LMs, enabling sustained operational capability.
Redon Systems' MBUL represents a significant leap forward in UAV technology, providing military forces with an unprecedented level of flexibility, speed, and precision in deploying unmanned aerial assets.
