Tata is actively pursuing expansion in the European defence market, as demonstrated by its recent presentation to the Hellenic Army General Staff (GES). On November 18, 2024, Tata representatives showcased the company's advanced military ground weapon systems and transport vehicles, emphasizing their commitment to providing versatile and reliable solutions for modern armed forces.

During the online presentation, Tata highlighted two key platforms: the WhAP 8×8 (Wheeled Armored Platform) and an Armored Personnel Carrier (4×4) with Mine Protection.

The WhAP 8×8 is a modular and versatile armored vehicle designed for a wide range of missions, including reconnaissance, troop transport, and infantry support. Developed in collaboration with India's Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), this amphibious platform boasts impressive off-road capabilities and protection features. It can be equipped with various weapon systems, making it a formidable asset for any mechanized infantry unit.

Tata also showcased its 4×4 APC, designed with a focus on crew survivability. This mine-resistant and ambush-protected vehicle is built to safely transport troops in high-risk areas, providing robust protection against improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and small arms fire. Its adaptability and mobility make it suitable for various operations, including peacekeeping missions, urban warfare, and counterinsurgency operations.

The Hellenic Army is currently exploring options to modernize its ground forces, seeking to enhance survivability, mobility, and operational flexibility. Tata's offerings align with these priorities, particularly given Greece's diverse terrain and the need for multi-role platforms that can operate effectively in both urban and rugged environments. The WhAP 8×8 and the 4×4 APC represent cost-effective solutions that could significantly enhance Greece's rapid deployment capabilities and armored troop transport operations.

Tata's defence division has been actively promoting its indigenous platforms to international markets, leveraging its expertise in engineering and manufacturing to offer high-performance and reliable systems at competitive prices. This presentation to the Hellenic Army signifies Tata's intent to penetrate the European defence sector and establish partnerships with NATO-aligned countries. By showcasing its advanced military vehicles and their adaptability to diverse operational needs, Tata aims to position itself as a reliable partner for modernizing armed forces across the globe.

Good 👍.. DPSUs should hire professional marketing teams for this kind of reach & export push...

TATA's are known for their quality and professional ethics. I am quite sure they would get good export orders.

India should keep advertising its weapons and products as it’s essential we export them.
