Army Vice Chief Visited Key Defence Manufacturing Sites, Including Ak-203 Factory

India's commitment to building a strong and independent defence industry was front and center during the recent tour of Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi, the Army Vice Chief. His visits to major manufacturing plants and top academic institutions highlight the country's determination to produce the weapons its military needs right here at home.

First up was a stop at Indo-Russian Rifles Private Limited. This factory is a key player in the production of assault rifles, the kind of firepower that keeps Indian soldiers ready for action. Seeing these weapons being made in India is a big deal– it means less reliance on foreign suppliers and more control over the army's equipment.

Next, Lt Gen Dwivedi checked out the Ordnance Factory Project in Korwa. This facility is all about using the latest technology to build a range of defence gear. The focus on cutting-edge tech speaks to India's goals of keeping its army up-to-date and able to handle any challenge.

A visit to the famed IIT Kanpur put Lt Gen Dwivedi in touch with the bright minds of India's academic world. These kinds of partnerships, between the military and top universities, are how countries get the best tech ideas turned into battlefield realities.

Finally, Lt Gen Dwivedi toured the Adani Ammunition Complex, signaling the private sector's growing involvement in India's defence industry. Having more companies stepping up to produce ammunition is another way to boost self-reliance and make sure our military never runs short on critical supplies.

what is status of AK-203 Production when will b delivered ...............????

India needs to quickly replace our old AK47 or similar variants which are decades old. While manufacturing the gun we should also develop a scope to improve our accuracy and install a under barrel grenade launcher which will give our soldiers a significant amount of superior fire power. Also our CAPF deployed against terrorists or Maoists/Naxal should receive the same type of guns who suffer from the same old type of guns.

Another crucial gun the military need to order is the indigenously developed JVPC carbine gun which passed all of the trials and tests. The gun is better than the current WW2 carbine along with the INSAS gun that we currently use, it's more deadly, uses a more powerful round, it's more lighter, cheaper to manufacture, pierce body armour, shorter and adjustable length, can be used with one hand, stronger and better metal composition. We shouldn't buy any foreign gun or make any under license and if the military don't want the JVPC then they buy a indigenous gun developed by the private sector.

Many Indian made weapons are available now. I think the manufacturing facility of Adani PLR and this joint venture at Korwa will open door for the replacement of front line weaponry of Indian Army as well as of CAPF.

By providing a shapeless fixed butt instead of the Retractable and foldable one in original design , the rifle appears to have been degraded for solders just to save a few hundred rupees .The bayonet size is also small and needs to be increased both in length and breadth.
