India's Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) is set to unveil its indigenously developed Quick Reaction Surface-to-Air Missile (QRSAM) weapon system at the upcoming Land Forces 2024 International Land Defence Exhibition in Melbourne this September.
The QRSAM, a state-of-the-art mobile air defense system, is designed to shield mechanized forces from aerial threats on the battlefield. Manufactured by Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), the system boasts a unique "Search on Move, Track on Move and Fire on Short Halts" capability, ensuring uninterrupted operational readiness even during movement.
With a range of 25-30 kilometers, the QRSAM addresses a critical requirement for the Indian Army. The system successfully underwent trials in April 2024, and further tests are planned to incorporate specific modifications suggested by the Army.
DRDO's participation in Land Forces 2024 offers a prime opportunity to showcase the QRSAM's advanced capabilities to a global audience, promoting India's indigenous defense technologies and exploring potential export opportunities.
The QRSAM's unveiling at this prestigious international exhibition highlights India's growing prowess in defense technology and its commitment to developing innovative solutions to meet modern security challenges.
