Navy Chief Commends MARCOS During Farewell Visit to Western Naval Command

During a farewell visit to the Western Naval Command (WNC) in Mumbai, Navy Chief Admiral R Hari Kumar interacted with personnel and specifically commended the elite Marine Commandos (MARCOS) for their exceptional work in various operations.

As part of the visit, Admiral Kumar engaged in open discussions with officers, sailors, and defense civilians. Topics included human resources, operations, and administration. The discussions also centered on fostering pride in the Indian Navy's heritage and working towards the goal of achieving a self-reliant ('Aatmanirbhar') Indian Navy by 2047.

Outstation personnel participated in the interactions via video conferencing.

A key highlight of the visit was Admiral Kumar's specific interaction with the MARCOS. He expressed his admiration for their daring acts and the groundbreaking operations they've undertaken.

Indian-Govt should consider to create an Expeditionary Amphibious Marine force under Indian-Navy's authority like the Russian Naval Infantry, Royal Marine etc.

This Indian-Marine or Naval-Infantry will allow India to:-
  1. Protect it's overseas interests
  2. Expeditionary Amphibious missions to win Beaches
  3. Act as a talent pool for MARCOS.

100%. Parts of Southern commands of IA, IN and IAF should be converted into an expeditionary force.
