Pakistan Proposes Missile Program Freeze in Exchange for Similar Action from India, Seeks US Mediation

In a recent diplomatic overture, Pakistan has reportedly approached the United States with a proposal aimed at de-escalating regional tensions through missile program controls. According to some posts on X, Pakistan has offered to halt its own missile development program if the U.S. can persuade India to do the same.

The proposal suggests a mutual cessation of missile development between India and Pakistan, with the United States acting as a mediator or facilitator. This would theoretically lead to a reduction in offensive capabilities on both sides, potentially contributing to regional stability.

Pakistan's move can be interpreted as an attempt to address the growing asymmetry in missile technology between itself and India. By linking its missile program to India's, Pakistan seeks to leverage U.S. influence to achieve a balance of military capabilities in South Asia.

However, the U.S. has not publicly acknowledged or endorsed this proposal. Given the complexity of U.S.-India relations, particularly in defence cooperation, and the strategic importance of both nations to American interests, the U.S. may be hesitant to intervene directly in such a sensitive matter.

Missile technology development has been a central aspect of the long-standing rivalry between India and Pakistan, with each nation striving to maintain a strategic edge. If taken seriously, Pakistan's proposal could significantly alter how missile proliferation is managed in the region.

This is not the first time Pakistan has sought to engage in discussions about missile control. Historically, Pakistan has often voiced concerns about perceived Indian military superiority, advocating for parity or control mechanisms. However, previous attempts have often been met with scepticism or rejection, largely due to deep-rooted distrust between the two nations.

While this latest proposal has generated discussion, its feasibility remains uncertain due to the complex security concerns and strategic interests of all parties involved. The international community, particularly those invested in non-proliferation, will be watching closely to see how this unfolds. However, given the historical context of India-Pakistan relations, scepticism about a quick resolution persists.

China is increasing it's nuclear warhead very quickly they have already 600 warhead besides India has only 172 warhead. Now Pakistan isn't India's opponent. To counter China India need to increase it's nuclear warhead very quickly. Don't trust Pakistan propaganda.

Ah, yes. The usual "We can't afford to keep up so let's keep the other side down by treaty" escape.

Would these perennial beggars tell us just why they think India would agree to such a ludicrous request? Also, in the one-in-a-billion chance that India agrees, how would these beggars justify India's defence needs against China, and how would they assure they themselves wouldn't be helped along by China?

The nation which brought out thieves like A. Q. Khan should not be trusted as a general rule. In this specific case, Bhikaristan can keep crying about it till the cows come home.

Don't act like a developed nation Pakis, first find the food to feed your population and then think about making it to at least a third world nation.
They won't find the food, no. Remember what that useless excuse of a PM said back in the 1970s? They will starve or eat grass, but they want nukes.

I don't think we should invest too much into nukes. The current pace is alright. The number of nukes a country has doesn't change much when others have them too. Having a good amount as a deterrent is what matters, and as long as we have good air defence and good missiles, we can cover the difference between 600 and 172.

China will say it will stop if USA stops interfering in its matters. WINNER - Russia
Nope US will say they will stop developing missiles if Russia also halts it. Winners are the non violent humans living all over the world.

Without China's inclusion in such agreements India can't restrain itself, as China is the biggest threat now, not Pakistan.

It don't matter if you have only 100 warheads.. need more than half of them to be in the second strike capability. Thats where the power is.

172 suspected warheads. Real number is probably higher. India has enough reactor grade plutonium (which can be used for nukes) for around 1,000-1,300 nuclear warheads. But to deter China and P0rk we need no more than 500, 30-40 for P0rkz and 250-300 for China, with rest 150 in storage.

Pakistan wants to create a win-win situation for itself and for China. They are moving fast, because they have till Januari 21.

Pakistan has lost its utility value long back. US no longer finds Pakistan that useful than what it was 3 decades back. The ties took a nose dive especially after Osama was found hiding in Pakistan.

India must not pay attention to all these demands of Pakistan as her actual competition is with China.Morrover, this is a bizzare logic as if I can't afford a square meal so my neighbour must also practice starvation.🤣

Pakistan and America are under-the-table girlfriends in Asia. Entire Pakistan is the CIA for America. Both collaborated to destabilize Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. Bangladesh is destabilized only to poke India. America wants its two biggest threats, China and India, to go to war. China and India's economic growth are threats to American hegemony.

I partially agree here, US will never allow first China and then India to become a superpower that will challange USA hegemony.
Soviets tried to challange them and you know the result. The USA is still same with deep rooted deep state.

India is not in competition with bankrupt pakistan but its main competitor is china. How can these beggars even think of equalling Indian weapons or force

If Uganda proposes that it will stop it's missile programmes and that USA should do the same, will USA respond to it? Please tell Pakistan this analogy.

On one hand Pakistan is calling de-escalation and on the other hand they are escalating and empowering their weapons and air defense. They don't have money to pursue their projects so this is just another propaganda to halt our advancement. Anyways US also knows that Modi listens only to his own voice

India's problem right now is China more than Pak who giving all its powerful arms to Pak and also pakies are blackmailing China on giving gawadar port. India needs to balance China, no need balance with bhikhari country.

Humans are the most violent of all living beings. They had been fighting for time immemorial, fighting now and will go on fighting in future. There's nothing called nonviolent Humans actually there are timid people who are afraid and take shelter under the garb of nonviolence.

India should agree to the Pakistani proposal provided it bans all terrorist activities in Pakistan, hang all the terrorists in next six months, vacate occupied Kashmir immediately, reduce the size of its army to half of its present strength, permanently dismantle its nuclear weapons and stop similar such activities which threaten regional peace.

Paki should chill. India is not only concerned about Paki, but also China. So, Paki should go back to its sugar daddy, China and ask more.
