Collins Aerospace Soars High with $200M Investment in India's Aerospace Manufacturing Sector

In a significant move that signals a shift in global aerospace manufacturing, Collins Aerospace, led by India Supply Chain Director Keshav Prasad, is embarking on an ambitious endeavor to produce advanced aerostructures, interiors, and avionics in India. The company's upcoming manufacturing site near Bengaluru airport is the cornerstone of this expansion, made possible by a substantial $200 million investment aimed at boosting research, development, and production capabilities within the country.

This strategic decision by Collins Aerospace underscores its commitment to the Indian market and taps into the nation's vast potential as a manufacturing powerhouse. By localizing production, the company aims to streamline operations, reduce costs, and enhance supply chain efficiency, ultimately bolstering its competitiveness in the global aerospace arena.

The expansion also carries substantial benefits for the Indian economy. The creation of jobs, skill development, and technology transfer are expected to follow as Collins Aerospace scales up its operations. Opportunities spanning engineering, manufacturing, research, and development are anticipated to emerge, further strengthening India's aerospace ecosystem.

Central to Collins Aerospace's growth strategy is the cultivation of partnerships with local suppliers and vendors. The company forecasts a threefold increase in sourcing from Indian partners within the next 3-4 years, fostering a robust network of aerospace suppliers in the country.

The recent collaboration between Collins Aerospace and Air India serves as a testament to the company's dedication to the Indian market. Air India's selection of Collins Aerospace as the avionics hardware supplier for its Boeing 737 MAX fleet underscores the confidence placed in the company's advanced technology and track record. The suite of avionics hardware, including multi-mode receivers, radio altimeters, and MultiScan ThreatTrack weather radar systems, not only elevates aircraft safety and operational efficiency but also solidifies Collins Aerospace's position as a leading provider of innovative aerospace solutions.

This expansion into India not only represents a pivotal moment for Collins Aerospace but also marks a significant milestone in India's journey towards becoming a global aerospace manufacturing hub.

More and more indicators of Boeing/Lockheed Martin in MRFA, now Rafale's backlog increased by another 25, yesterday OMAN ordered 25 Rafales, easy 15-20 Years waiting period.

If GOI order Rafale then it will be manufactured in India. So Donot worry for backorder.

Dassault making it all by itself without Indian partner itself means Rafale will not be considered, this contradicts the condition laid for MRFA.

It's good that they are investing more money into India as that will increase the number of jobs in the defence sector as that will help India in designing and developing new modern technology.
