Hyderabad-based Rekise Marine to Fabricate, Integrate & Test 'Jalkapi' AUV for Indian Navy under iDEX

GUIZQKwb0AA-epm

Rekise Marine Private Limited has been awarded a significant contract under the Indian Navy's iDEX Aditi 1.0 Challenge to develop the 'Jalkapi' Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV). This advanced subsea platform, designed for extended underwater survey missions, is capable of operating for up to 45 days without the need for resupply.

The Jalkapi, measuring approximately 10 meters in length and 2 meters in diameter, is equipped with a comprehensive suite of sensors, including EO/IR cameras, multi-beam echo sounders, and sonar systems. It also incorporates advanced navigation and obstacle avoidance systems to ensure safe and efficient operations.

A key feature of the Jalkapi is its onboard diesel generator, allowing it to recharge its batteries at sea, thus significantly extending its mission endurance. The AUV is designed to operate at depths exceeding 300 meters, making it suitable for a wide range of underwater tasks.

Rekise Marine will work closely with the Indian Navy's Directorate of Naval Design (DND(SDG)) to finalize the Jalkapi's design and development. This win in the iDEX challenge highlights Rekise Marine's capabilities in underwater technology and its potential to contribute to India's maritime strength.

Check company details on web and linkedin. They have not even 10 ppl including non-technical and graphical designers. What's going on?

Maybe it's because they are working in sensitive defense sectors that their information is not easily available on public

There is a lot of potential in its capabilities that we need. These are complex systems and technology to develop but we need them to increase our surveillance, search for underwater resources, search for submarines, underwater mapping and conduct EW/ESM etc.

India should also arm these tiny submarines with small torpedoes, kamikaze drones and sea mines to improve and increase our combat capabilities so it’s essential to arm the submarine.

They are robotics company. Their role is only the automation software and its hardware integration. That does not require lot of people or a factory.

The building and designing of the sub and its subsystems and sensors etc. Will be done by others

So 3-4 tech employees can manage that?
