Russia to Supply Key Metallurgical Materials for Sukhoi-30MKI Overhaul

In a move set to strengthen India's air defence capabilities, Russia will provide vital metallurgical inputs to support the overhaul and modernization of the Indian Air Force's Sukhoi-30MKI fighter jet fleet.

State-owned Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) will manage the overhaul at its Koraput facility in Odisha. The supply of raw materials and processed components, notably superalloys, from Russia is pivotal for the maintenance and upgrade of these aircraft.

The Sukhoi-30MKI, a cornerstone of India's air defence, requires meticulous upkeep to ensure peak operational readiness. Timely provision of these materials will allow HAL to carry out essential maintenance and upgrades, extending the aircraft's service life and combat effectiveness.

Beyond immediate overhauls, HAL is preparing for a major modernization program starting in fiscal year 2026-27. This extensive upgrade will focus on enhancing the Sukhoi-30MKI's capabilities to maintain its edge in modern air combat.

A significant aspect of this modernization is a comprehensive cockpit redesign, introducing new-generation touch widescreen displays. This is expected to boost pilot situational awareness, data visualization, and control, contributing to overall operational efficiency.

The Sukhoi-30MKI's advanced autopilot, supporting all flight stages, including low-altitude terrain-following operations, will also be enhanced.

The combined effect of Russian metallurgical inputs and the upcoming modernization efforts aims to significantly bolster the Sukhoi-30MKI's performance and longevity, ensuring it remains a formidable asset in the Indian Air Force's fleet for years to come.

While US was busy producing paper wealth using fiat currency by producing exoting financial products like CDS and others, Russia was busy producing scientific papers of various extraction techniques, reducing hazards to human health while digging deep mines, designing new drilling equipment and coming up with newer methods of purification of rare earths, writing research papers on scientific methods of industrial farming without using GMO Foods.Today Russia is the largest producer of wheat in the world, a leading producer of fruits. USA produces a lot of synthetic Credit Default Swaps which most people don't know what it does exactly.

So after 16,000 sanctions and developing a thick padding of shamelessness, USA went begging to buy enriched Uranium for $1.3 billion. Seeing this EU countries also wanted to buy enriched Uranium and were told a strict no by USA. So India was roped in, Greek shippers threatened their Govt and the tanker oil trade started. USA saw that glumly.

Now Germany has kicked off this year's begging season, by approaching Russia to buy wheat. Russia said no because you are an unfriendly country. It even suggested an alternative source: Ukraine. So after 10s of articles in the European Press, about the meaness of Russia and Putin, it is back to begging.No European country wants Ukranian wheat as it is a GMO food produced alongside 100s of harmful chemicals like white phosphorus, napalm, plastic explosive mixing with soil and ground water. Human Beings do not know what sort of reactions these hazardous chemicals produce in human bodies.General consensus is we will die quickly if we eat poisoned food.😂🤣😁

America is not the problem for Tejas. HAL is the problem. Where are the trainer aircrafts for which US has supplied the engines? Even if GE had delivered the engines on time, planes would have been late because of HAL.

What about Su-30, Dhruv, Rudra, Mi-17V5, Mig-29, Jaguar, Mirage-2k, P-8I, Scorpene ? Which government bought them ?

This government was indeed brought to bring a change. Changes like setting aside 25% of the R&D budget for private sector. Like increasing domestic procurement to 70%. If we see any further "delays" in F404 or F414 we must immediately go for the 12 Su 30mki and even the 21 Mig 29.

Not only will they augment existing fleet but also send a message that any pressure to buy outdated F21 ( F16) and F15 for MRFA will not be acceptable.

And if a stronger message is needed we must go for 36 additional Rafale F4 along with 26 Rafale for the Navy.

We understand F404 and F414 are delayed from GE due to "supply chain issues", hence the next gen engine cannot be gambled with. So must go for new engine with either Safran or Rolls Royce.

Or maybe already we have indicated the decision and hence the "delay".

We seem to be trying to calm and satisfy them with GA MQ-9 reaper and Stryker armored infantry carriers.

Even for the MTU engine we used for Zorawar , there were delays and when Cummins engine was opted, Rolls Royce ( Parent company for MTU ) suddenly provided the necessary engines for prototypes.

I guess that's why the visit to Russia, post elections, and talk of Russian armored personnel carriers and even the light tank Sprut SD tanks for India.

And if AMAC is at risk due to all this, we must consider Su57/Su-75 and KF-21 ( still under US control ) or eventually Tempest. ( but will have UK influenced by US)

Wow. So Russia focused on Research and Us produces nothing. Nevermind the fact that US not only publishes 6 times the number of scientific papers as Russia, more than twice when adjusted per capita, but it also receives more money in repatriation for its scientific patents than any other country worldwide. Russia is not even close to US. Russia is so outdated that even to build the pipeline for its gas, it had to hire European countries. Forget that, it couldn’t even repair the turbines on its own and had to send them to Canada.

No doubt, Russia is good at nuclear tech. But overall, it’s not even a pale shadow of US when it comes to science. It’s begging us there for all to see.

Acquire all unused MIG29SMT's from Russia and all Soviet bloc countries at lowest costs and upgrade to Super-MIG29UPG-i standards next!

But, though it means RIP Tejas SEF programs. However, HAL can now develop very quickly ORCA jets of HF42-TEF and Tejas-Naval-TEF on just twin RD33MK Sea Wasp engines next!

Does Bharat Forge and PTC have the capacity for extracting rare earths and making alloys? Even the US and EU Govts, Companies and research organisations do not have that technology! Only 2 countries in the world have the capability to extract and purify rare Earths . They are Russia and China. If Bharat Forge and PTC have it , then great.

You’re factually wrong about ordering the Tejas under the UPA. The order for Tejas MK1A wasn’t given until 2015 and until then they had only made 7 limited series production.

As for submarine the contracts, price and discussion was already discussed and agreed by 2004 and construction began after that so UPA didn’t make this deal.

Also with the Kamorta corvette they had already approved the design and construction by 2003.

As for the Sukhoi 30MKI the deal to manufacture 140 jets was signed in 2000. Before that 50 were made in Russia and imported it.

As for the Mig 29K a small order of 12 jets was given by 2004 for training and evaluation and after that a larger order was given which was going to occur anyway.

As for the Brahms missile a company was formed and tests began in 2001 and induction and orders followed after.

For the Hawk AJT a deal was made before 2004 and delivery began from 2008 onwards and then manufactured under licence.

So you see the deals were made mostly by the previous NDA government and delivery of the orders began throughout the UPA tenure but they didn’t order or make many deals at all except repeat orders based on the contracts signed during the NDA.

FYI . TEJAS order was placed during Narendra Modi's 1st term . Orders for AJT happened during Atal Bihari Vajpayee's tenure.
BRAHMOS - project dates back to late 90s when UPA was not in power. Mig 29 K is a disaster. That's why RAFALE M is chosen as its replacement. SCORPENE deal was languishing for years , till it got cleared post UPA 2 . RAFALE deal was signed during NDA under NAMO . Artillery modernisation picked up pace post 2014.
