The Indian Ministry of Defence (MoD) has awarded a significant grant to Velmenni, a pioneer in light communication solutions, under the iDEX (Innovations for Defence Excellence) initiative.

This funding aims to revolutionize secure wireless communication within the Indian Defence sector, with a particular focus on addressing the unique challenges faced by the Indian Navy in modern warfare.

Velmenni's Li-Fi (Light Fidelity) technology, which utilizes light waves for data transmission, promises enhanced security, faster speeds, and reduced interference compared to traditional radio frequency-based technologies like Wi-Fi.

The grant will enable Velmenni to tailor its Li-Fi solutions to meet the specific needs of the Indian Navy, ensuring seamless and secure communication in even the harshest environments.

"We are honored to receive this grant from the Ministry of Defence," said Deepak Solanki, Founder and CEO of Velmenni. "This is a testament to the potential of Li-Fi to transform communication in the defence sector. We are committed to leveraging this opportunity to develop cutting-edge solutions that will empower the Indian Navy and strengthen India's defence capabilities."

The iDEX initiative, launched by the MoD in 2018, aims to foster innovation and collaboration between the defence sector and startups like Velmenni. This grant aligns with several other national initiatives, including Make in India, Startup India, and the Atal Innovation Mission, all of which seek to promote indigenous technological development and entrepreneurship.

With this grant, Velmenni is poised to revolutionize communication within the Indian Navy and set a new standard for secure and efficient wireless communication in the defence sector.

This is a significant step towards a future where light-based communication plays a pivotal role in safeguarding national security and driving technological advancements in India.
