DRDO to Transfer Tech of PRACHAND 'Anti-Tank' Munition Hardware to Apollo Micro System for Mass Production

Hyderabad-based Apollo Micro Systems Ltd (AMSL), a major player in the defence and aerospace sectors, has been shortlisted by the Defence Research and Development Organization's (DRDO) Armament Research and Development Establishment (ARDE) for the transfer of technology related to the production of PRACHAND munition hardware. The company made the announcement on Wednesday, September 18th.

PRACHAND is a potent anti-tank munition designed to deliver a full-width attack, effectively neutralizing enemy armored vehicles. The successful transfer of technology will enable Apollo Micro Systems to manufacture and supply PRACHAND munition hardware to the Indian Armed Forces, aligning with India's strategic goal of achieving self-sufficiency in defence equipment and technology.

With the expertise acquired through this technology transfer, Apollo Micro Systems is confident in its ability to meet the large-scale production demands for PRACHAND, demonstrating their commitment to contributing to India's security and self-reliance.

We need to manufacture these in very large numbers that can damage tanks, armoured vehicles and troops along the LAC. We can heavily mine those positions which will stop China and its troops from entering our territory. This is the best option and way to protect our country and people without having to make walls or fence it off.

We should also look to manufacturing the recent and newly developed mines so we can sell them in Africa or Europe or to Russia who has a huge need for them and at a cheaper cost than other foreign mines.
