According to sources, Pakistan’s ISI had been planning an attack on the Ram temple in Ayodhya for several days. The Ram temple was inaugurated in a grand ceremony in January last year. It is learnt that the arrested Rehman had been doing Reiki there for the entire year. Rehman is associated with Jamaat and several Islamist organizations. Rehman used to smuggle all the information to the ISI through Reiki.
According to sources, Rehman met a smuggler in Faridabad, Haryana and took two grenades from him. Rehman was supposed to take them to Ayodhya by train. But before that, he was caught by the STF of Haryana and the Anti-Terrorism Squad of Gujarat. The police tracked Rehman and arrested him after receiving information from the Central Intelligence Agency.
Two hand grenades were also recovered. Rehman had hidden them in an abandoned house in Pali village, 12 km from Faridabad. The bombs have been defused. The arrested person has now been taken to Gujarat for questioning by the ATS. However, the investigation is ongoing. Sources also said that efforts are being made to find out whether Rehman is alone or a larger militant group is hiding.
