Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a leading public sector defence enterprise under the Ministry of Defence, has announced securing new orders worth Rs 634 crore since its last disclosure on November 8, 2024.

This influx of orders further strengthens BEL's position in the defence and civilian electronics market and highlights its continued success in meeting the needs of its customers.

The new orders encompass a diverse range of products and services, including:
  • Maintenance of the Akash Missile System: This order ensures the continued operational readiness of India's indigenously developed medium-range surface-to-air missile defence system.
  • Telescopic sights for guns: These sights will enhance the accuracy and precision of small arms used by the defence forces.
  • Communication equipment: BEL will supply communication equipment to facilitate secure and reliable communication networks for the armed forces.
  • Jammers: Electronic warfare systems to disrupt enemy communication and electronic systems.
  • Electronic voting machines: BEL is a major supplier of electronic voting machines for India's election process.
  • Test stations and spares: These orders ensure the reliability and longevity of various defence equipment.
  • Various services: BEL provides a range of support services to its customers.
With these latest orders, BEL's total order book for the current financial year (FY25) has reached an impressive Rs 8,828 crore. This achievement follows a strong performance in the second quarter of FY25, where BEL reported a 34% increase in its standalone net profit and a 15% increase in revenue from operations compared to the same period last year.

BEL's continued success in securing significant orders reflects its strong technological capabilities, its diverse product portfolio, and its commitment to meeting the evolving needs of India's defence and civilian sectors.

The company's performance also highlights the growing strength of India's domestic defence industry and its contribution to the country's self-reliance in defence manufacturing.
