Beyond S-400, Russia Offers India Collaboration on Multi-Layered Aerospace Shield to Counter China-Pak's Growing Capabilities

Russia has proposed collaborating with India on the development of a comprehensive aerospace defense system, going beyond the already acquired S-400 Triumf air defense system. This initiative, highlighted in a recent interview with Russian military expert Igor Korotchenko by Sputnik India, emphasizes the growing need for India to bolster its defenses against the evolving capabilities of China and Pakistan.

Korotchenko, editor-in-chief of Russia's 'National Defense' magazine, stressed the significance of a robust aerospace defense system as a hallmark of a leading military power in today's geopolitical landscape. He noted that even non-state actors, such as the Houthis, have demonstrated advanced capabilities in drones and missiles, underscoring the necessity for India to prioritize its defenses.

A key element of such a system, according to Korotchenko, is the implementation of Missile Attack Early Warning Systems, which provide crucial time for response by detecting threats early on. The S-400 system, which India has already procured from Russia, plays a vital role in this regard. The S-400 not only strengthens India's surveillance capabilities but also provides a powerful defensive shield against aerial threats.

Experts suggest this multi-layered approach to aerospace defense is critical in the face of the ongoing arms race in the Indo-Pacific region, where both China and Pakistan are rapidly modernizing their air forces and missile arsenals. By enhancing its defensive capabilities, India aims to deter potential aggression and safeguard its airspace. The collaboration with Russia on this advanced aerospace defense system is poised to be a significant step in achieving this goal.

This is the most bogus deal. They cannot even protect themselves. Moscow parliament aka Kremlin got hit with a low-speed drone. Their HQ gets hit by Himars and Scalp missiles regularly. Please. Russian air defence doesn't even have proper IFF. They just recently shot down two commercial airlines and had to apologize for it. Only America and Israel have missile defence shields worth buying.

Israel alone didn’t manage to protect itself from so many missiles and drones from Iran. The USA, UK and Nato command reinforced them with more SAM, radars, missiles, anti drone systems, EW/ESM etc.

Also having an effective air defence system depends on the type of SAM, radars, missile interceptors, EW, positioning, range or altitude etc.

Also any country can destroy a SAM defence unit by launching a heavy saturated missile or drone strike on it like using 20 swarm drone or kamikaze drones. A standard unit will have around 4 missiles with different ranges and type of interceptor missiles. If it destroys 4 drones then there’s 16 left which is still attacking your SAM. Unless you can quickly reload your missiles and destroy all 20 drones then your SAM will eventually be hit and destroyed.

Assistance! 🤣
A country that is unable to stop its national capital and the oil refineries across its territories from getting bombed by drones is going to assist india with an aerospace shield!

First Russia should deliver all S400 missiles, radar, replenishment/reload vehicle so that we can increase our air defence coverage and capability. For their delay we should fine them so that they can finish and deliver our order first like they promised. Instead they want us to make more air defence deals without honouring their original contract terms and conditions.
