Odisha-based drone startup BonV Aero has achieved a groundbreaking feat in high-altitude UAV technology, setting a new world record by conducting a hover flight test at a staggering 19,024 feet while carrying a 30kg payload. This remarkable achievement took place at Umling La Pass in Ladakh, the highest motorable mountain pass globally.

The significance of this feat is amplified when compared to the capabilities of the Indian Army's Cheetah helicopter, known for its effectiveness in high-altitude terrains. The Cheetah, despite its specialized design, can only manage a payload of 20 kg, highlighting the superior performance of BonV Aero's UAV.

Satyabrata Satapathy, the Co-founder and CEO of BonV Aero, expressed his pride in the company's achievement, emphasizing their commitment to addressing the Indian Army's logistical challenges in high-altitude regions.

Abinash Sahoo, the Co-founder and CTO, views this success as just the beginning of UAV capabilities in challenging environments.

BonV Aero boasts an impressive client list that includes the Indian Army, Indian Navy, and Air Force. The company takes pride in its products' ability to operate effectively under extreme conditions. This recent record-breaking flight further solidifies their position as a leading innovator in the UAV industry.

This achievement comes on the heels of BonV Aero securing Rs 14 crore funding after winning a US TV reality show. Satapathy had previously indicated the company's drones' capability to operate at high altitudes, exceeding 10,000 feet, in demanding environments. This latest accomplishment clearly demonstrates that they are delivering on that promise.
