Bengaluru-based TimeTooth Technologies, a leading engineering solutions provider, has been awarded a significant contract by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) to develop and supply Rotor Damper systems for the Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH Dhruv) and Light Combat Helicopter (LCH Prachand) programs.

This multi-year project, which is expected to generate over $5 million in production orders within the first five years, is a major milestone for TimeTooth and represents a significant step forward in the indigenization of critical aircraft systems in India.

The company will be responsible for the development and qualification of the Rotor Damper systems over the next two years, followed by production and supply for at least five years thereafter.

Rotor Dampers play a crucial role in helicopter safety by absorbing vibrations and oscillations in the rotor system, preventing ground and air resonance, and ensuring dynamic stability. TimeTooth's selection for this project highlights their expertise in developing mission-critical systems for the defence and aerospace sectors.

Girish Mudgal, Director of TimeTooth Technologies, emphasized the significance of this contract, stating that "It is a landmark step in indigenization of critical aircraft systems and is a shining example of HAL leveraging the Make-II scheme of the Government of India."

The Make-II scheme encourages private industry participation in developing and manufacturing critical defence equipment, providing them with assured production orders upon successful qualification.

TimeTooth, with its 15-year track record of delivering complex systems to Indian aerospace and defence organizations, sees this contract as a significant opportunity to scale up their production and supply capabilities in the rapidly growing Indian aerospace market.

The ALH Dhruv, an indigenously developed multi-role utility helicopter, and the LCH Prachand, a multi-role light attack helicopter, are both vital assets for the Indian Armed Forces. The integration of TimeTooth's Rotor Damper systems into these helicopters will enhance their safety and performance, contributing to the nation's defence capabilities.

I have written about private sector participation for a decade or so and India must accelerate it very fast.
Als, India must bring in startup companies with seeding fundings so they can develop some great groundbreaking ideas for Indian defense.

Congratulations TTTP, way to go !!!

India needs to get more private sector companies to invest and develop a lot of critical technology, parts and components that are currently imported. There is a huge requirement for parts like this as we still need to manufacture hundreds of Dhruv, Prachand and LUH so it’s a great business opportunity for whoever can develop this crucial technology.
