In a significant milestone for India's aerospace industry, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited's (HAL) Dornier aircraft, operated by the Indian Navy, made its inaugural appearance at the Selangor Aviation Show (SAS2024) in Malaysia from September 12th to 14th.

This marked the first time an HAL-manufactured aircraft participated in this prestigious event, garnering attention from dignitaries and visitors alike.

The Crown Prince of Selangor, Tengku Amir Shah, and the Chief Minister of Selangor visited the HAL booth, interacting with High Commissioner B N Reddy and HAL officials. They lauded India's maiden participation and the aircraft's showcase.

The Dornier aircraft further impressed with demonstration sorties, highlighting its advanced capabilities and operational ease, solidifying India's aerospace prowess on the global stage.

This landmark participation underscores HAL's and the Indian Navy's commitment to expanding India's footprint in the international aviation market.

The only dornier HAL sell to international customer are the one donated by indian government as a good will. Triuth is that these plane are not cheap nor best in business.

As the dornier has almost been indegenised, can't it's shape & design be changed, even slightly? Looks like one ugly bird from jurassic era
Why change something that already works very well into something that gives no benefit? Changing the hull, design, shape or structure means that it will have to go through the very long process of testing and certifying it safe which will take 3-5 years and cost a lot more money.
