BANDAR ABBAS, Iran – An Indian naval fleet has arrived at the southern Iranian port city of Bandar Abbas to participate in a joint exercise with the Iranian Navy. The fleet, comprised of three destroyers – INS Tir, INS Shardul, and Indian Coast Guard ship Veera – is led by Captain Anshul Kishore and arrived on September 30th as part of a long-range training deployment.

Iranian Navy officer Captain Masoud Beigi confirmed that the joint exercise will take place north of the strategically important Hormuz Strait. This strait is a crucial waterway for global oil transport, and the exercise underscores the commitment of both nations to regional maritime security.

During their four-day stay, the Indian naval personnel will also have the opportunity to experience the cultural and recreational offerings of Bandar Abbas, fostering goodwill and mutual understanding between the two navies.

Captain Beigi emphasized that such reciprocal visits serve to strengthen the friendly ties between India and Iran. This latest interaction follows a history of naval cooperation between the two countries, including previous joint exercises and port visits. These initiatives highlight the growing strategic partnership between India and Iran in the realm of maritime security and regional stability.
