In a historic first, Chennai will play host to the prestigious National Air Force Day Parade on October 8th at the Tambaram Air Force Station. Adding to the excitement, the Indian Air Force (IAF) has planned a thrilling air show over Marina Beach on October 6th.

The air show promises to be a visual spectacle featuring a range of combat aircraft such as the Sukhoi Su-30 MKI and Tejas, alongside transport aircraft and the renowned aerobatic teams Surya Kiran and Sarang.

Residents of Chennai and visitors alike can expect to be enthralled by this display of aerial prowess, scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. and last for approximately an hour and a half. A rehearsal is slated for October 4th.

The National Air Force Day Parade itself will see the participation of esteemed dignitaries including Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan.

This marks the first time the national-level parade will be held near Chennai, reflecting the IAF's efforts to decentralize this momentous event and showcase its capabilities across the nation. Chandigarh and Prayagraj have been previous hosts in recent years.
