The Indian Armed Forces have concluded a nine-day high-intensity tri-service military exercise, "Poorvi Prahar," near the China border in Arunachal Pradesh.

The exercise, which ended on November 18th, showcased India's military might and technological advancements, featuring integrated operations involving the Army, Navy, Air Force, and the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP).

Conducted in the challenging high-altitude terrain of Arunachal Pradesh, Poorvi Prahar demonstrated the forces' ability to operate in a dynamic environment.

The exercise involved large-scale drills across land, air, and water, emphasizing joint warfare and interoperability. Troops tested their skills with next-generation artillery, advanced logistics, and cutting-edge technologies like swarm drones, FPV drones, and loiter munitions.

The exercise showcased an impressive array of military hardware, including advanced fighter aircraft, reconnaissance platforms, Chinook helicopters, and the Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) Rudra.

The newly inducted M777 Ultra-Light Howitzer artillery systems were also deployed, highlighting India's capability to rapidly deploy heavy firepower in remote, high-altitude regions.

A notable highlight was a precisely executed "elephant walk," with multiple aircraft taxiing in close formation before takeoff, demonstrating the forces' ability to launch swift and coordinated air operations. Rudra helicopters conducted live-fire training, showcasing their versatility in providing close air support and engaging in precision strikes.

Technological innovation was central to Poorvi Prahar. Joint control structures, utilizing satellite communications and AI-driven analytics, were established to ensure seamless integration of operations across all domains. The use of swarm drones and loiter munitions underscored India's advancements in unmanned systems and precision weaponry.

The exercise also emphasized the importance of synergy among the armed forces and the ITBP. Integrated command mechanisms were reviewed to enhance coordination and efficiency during joint operations, further strengthening India's border security capabilities.

Poorvi Prahar holds significant strategic importance given its proximity to the India-China border, a region that has witnessed increased military activity. This exercise, along with other recent drills like the month-long mobilization exercise in the Tawang sector, underscores India's commitment to safeguarding its territorial integrity and enhancing combat readiness in sensitive regions.

Senior officers from all three services participated in the exercise and reviewed the joint mechanisms employed. The reviews focused on refining strategies, optimizing resource allocation, and addressing challenges encountered during the drills.

Sources indicate that further exercises to test weapon systems are likely to be conducted soon, highlighting India's proactive approach to modernizing its defense capabilities.
